Beware of Trashy Hands – Beginners often feel intimidated by trashy hands such as pocket kings and queens. This is a mistake as the flop can turn your trashy hand into a monster in a hurry!

Using the Flop to Your Advantage – If you have a pocket pair on the flop and it comes A-8-5 you have a very strong hand. But if the board is packed with straights and flushes you are in big trouble.

The flop is the most important part of a poker hand and it is the stage where you need to decide whether you are willing to bet or fold your hand. If you think your hand is weaker than your opponent’s hand then you should fold immediately.
