What is a Slot?

The term “slot” is a grammatical construct with specific functions. It fits a morpheme sequence, and has a range of meanings. Slot can refer to an interior opening in a copy desk. The term slot is defined as an area in the offensive zone between the face-off circles. In hockey, there are two types of slots: low and high. In ice hockey, the low slot is in front of the goaltender and between the two face-off circles. The high slot is located in the middle of the ice, above the face-off circles. In both cases, the goaltender must react lightning fast to intercept the puck.

The pay table lists the credits that a player receives if a particular combination of symbols appears on the screen.
