Poker is a card game played by two or more people with a standard deck of 52 cards. The goal is to make the best hand possible. Players will reveal their cards and the highest winning hand wins the pot.

Most poker games involve a blind bet. An ante, also known as the buy-in, is usually a small ante. Depending on the specific game, this is usually a dollar or a dollar and a half.

When two players have a pair, the higher card wins the hand. A flush is a five-card hand of the same suit. It can also be a straight, a group of five consecutive cards in sequential order.

There are many variations of the game, but a few basic rules remain the same. Cards are ranked from Ace high. Generally, each hand is made up of five cards. During the draw phase, all but one player folds.
